We are always interested in hearing from people who like building models and writing code, whatever their background — chemistry, physics, maths, materials or computer science.

PhD students

UOW and the Australian Government offer competitive scholarships for domestic and international candidates, covering tuition and a living stipend. Applications are assessed twice a year.

To apply, send a CV, an academic transcript, and a short note on which of our research directions interests you and why. A paragraph about something you have built or debugged is worth more than a list of grades.

Postdoctoral researchers

There are currently no funded postdoctoral positions open. If you are applying for a fellowship and would like to host it here, get in touch early — proposals take time to put together properly.

Honours & masters projects

UOW students are welcome to ask about projects at any point in the year. It helps to mention which subjects you have enjoyed and whether you have written code before.
